We are a small, family-run, quiet, relaxed, rural site with 45 pitches for caravans, campervans and tents: 30 with electricity and 15 without. The site is located behind the old nineteenth century village school and is grassy, well drained, flat, spacious and very quiet. Read more We are situated at the edge of a small village in a conservation area of outstanding natural beauty with forest, river, heathland and coastal trails nearby. There is an abundance of wildlife around the site including owls, woodpeckers, nightingales, rabbits, deer, squirrels and foxes. We are family and pet friendly and welcome dogs as long as they are kept on a secure lead while on the site. We manage our site in an environmentally-friendly, organic, ‘green’ way. We have recently installed a solar-powered photo-voltaic array so all our electricity is from a renewable source. We also use Ecover and other ‘green’ products to clean the toilets. Wherever possible we reuse and recycle – we have recycling facilities for glass, cardboard, plastic etc on the site. We also grow our own organic fruit and vegetables and have a small flock of mixed rare breed, very free range chickens. The Sorrel Horse community-owned pub is a 3 minute walk from the site and serves lunch and evening meals. There is also a children’s playground which can be accessed directly from the site. We are 2 miles from the River Deben, 3.5 miles from the sea (Shingle Street) and 4 miles from a sandy beach (Bawdsey). We are 2 miles from an excellent local shop (Hollesley Village Store) with more shops in the local market town of Woodbridge. Our site is ideal for simple, relaxing family holidays. There are monthly farmer’s markets in Snape and Woodbridge. We are 2 miles from the River Deben, 3.5 miles from the sea (Shingle Street) and 4 miles from a sandy beach (Bawdsey). It is a very good walking and cycling area. There are forest, river, heathland and coastal walks accessible from the campsite.
